Is this for you?

  • I need more make-up to even out my skin.
  • Redness and fine veins I keep covering.
  • My skin looks tired, not bright.

If you recognise yourself, SPECTRX may be a good place to start. Dr. Douaihy confirms it once he has examined you.

The science, simply.

Where it works

  • Light
  • Firmness
  • Structure

Pigment and small red vessels absorb light. SPECTRX sends flashes of light that are drawn to them, so spots and redness fade, while near-infrared warms deeper to help skin feel firmer. Colour evens out, and skin looks clearer and brighter.

More about SPECTRX

SPECTRX is the clinic’s light platform. It combines intense pulsed light, which targets pigment and visible small vessels, with near-infrared, which warms the deeper skin for firmness. Pulsed light is offered for lighter skin types, I to III, and Dr. Douaihy confirms your skin type before he plans a course.

What you’ll feel, and see.

  • During

Quick flashes of warmth, like a light snap on the skin.

  • After

Spots look darker for a few days, then flake away like fine coffee grounds.

  • Over time

A clearer, more even tone after a course of three sessions.

Day by day
  1. Day 0

Warmth and mild pinkness. Dark spots may look slightly darker, which is expected.

  2. Days 2–10

Spots darken further, then flake away gradually, like fine coffee grounds.

  3. Weeks 3–4

Your next session. Tone is already more even.

  4. After the course

Clearer, more even skin. Daily sun protection keeps it.

The Dr. Douaihy protocol

Dr. Douaihy uses SPECTRX in three protocols. CC Glow corrects color in light and sensitive skin, Photonic Rejuvenation treats sun spots and redness on the face or the face and neck, and near-infrared tightening supports firmness. Settings are chosen for your skin type and recorded in your file, and every session runs on a day he is in the clinic.

Light rewards precision and respect for skin type. I treat only the skin this platform suits, and I say so plainly when another route is better.Dr. Douaihy to approve quote

On your written plan, it may appear as

  • Signature “CC Glow”Pulsed light for tone, skin types I to III
  • Signature “Profound Neo” Skin TighteningNear-infrared deep-heat tightening
  • Photonic Rejuvenation — FacePulsed light photofacial
  • Photonic Rejuvenation — Face and NeckPulsed light photofacial, face and neck

It suits you if

  • Sun spots and uneven pigment from summers in the sun.
  • Redness, flushing or visible small vessels on the cheeks and nose.
  • A dull tone you want clearer before a season of events.
  • Lighter skin, types I to III, for pulsed light, and up to type IV for near-infrared tightening.

When another option is better

  • Skin types outside the approved range. The clinic never offers pulsed light beyond types I to III.
  • A recent tan, self-tanner or sun exposure.
  • Melasma. Heat can deepen it, so it follows a different plan.
  • Pregnancy, photosensitizing medication or recent isotretinoin.
  • Active infection, cold sores or inflammation in the area.

Questions about SPECTRX

All questions
Is IPL the same as a laser?

A laser uses a single wavelength. Intense pulsed light uses a filtered band of light, chosen for each target. SPECTRX pairs pulsed light with near-infrared on one platform.

Can SPECTRX treat rosacea?

In lighter skin types, it can soften the redness and visible vessels of rosacea over a course. Dr. Douaihy often pairs it with a prescription routine to calm the skin barrier.

Is it suitable for darker skin?

Pulsed light is offered for skin types I to III only. For other skin types, Dr. Douaihy suggests a protocol designed for them, such as the light thulium laser protocol.

How many sessions will I need?

Usually three, three to four weeks apart, with your result reviewed at the end of the course.

How much does IPL cost at the clinic?SEO: approve before launch

SPECTRX is planned as a course of three sessions, priced as one course, and the price depends on the area. Dr. Douaihy confirms your skin type and gives you the exact price at your consultation.SEO: approve before launch

Is there downtime after SPECTRX?SEO: approve before launch

Most people return to their day straight after, with warmth and mild pinkness. Dark spots look darker for a few days, then flake away gradually, like fine coffee grounds, between days two and ten.SEO: approve before launch
